Registration Desk
Conference pre-registration and Workshop registration desks will be open at the Conference Center, Piazza Adua 1, room n. 5, ground floor, on Monday 23 and Friday 27 September from 8:00 to 16:00. On Tuesday 24 September the registration desk will be located next to the large Auditorium and will be open from 8.00 am.Conference Secretariat
The conference secretariat, located next to the large Auditorium, will be open from 8.00-13.00 and 14.00-18.00 from Tuesday 24 to Friday 27. Telephone messages can be delivered at the number +39 055 497 3301 and fax messages at the number +39 055 497 3302. All messages will be posted on the message board close to the Conference desk. Participants may refer to this service for any communications with delegates.Internet Service
Computer terminals and 4 internet sockets will be available for participants in the Club room of the Conference Center with internet access.
Visa Requirements
All foreign participants must have a valid passport except the European Union citizens, who need only an identification card. Invitation letters to apply for a visa will be sent upon request. Please refer to Maria Teresa Tibaldi at the email address: mariateresa.t@inwind.it, clearly indicating the dates of arrival and departure that need to be mentioned in these letters. We advise you to forward your request for an invitation letter by 15 July 2002 at the latest.

By air
The Firenze airport "Amerigo Vespucci" is directly linked to many European and Italian airports, such as Amsterdam Barcelona Brussels Dόsserdolf London Lugano Milano Linate Milano Malpensa Mόnich Nice Paris Roma. Buses and taxis provide easy connections to the city center.
The Pisa airport "Galileo Galilei" (with a railway connection to Firenze's main station S. Maria Novella, journey time about 1 hour) is linked directly to Frankfurt London Milano Linate Paris Roma.
The Roma airport "Leonardo da Vinci" is linked to most international and intercontinental airports. From Roma you can choose to travel to Firenze either by plane or by train. At the airport there is a direct link with the main railway station of Roma "Termini", where you can find, at every hour, an Intercity or Eurostar train to Firenze (journey time: airport Termini 30 min. / Roma Termini Firenze S. Maria Novella 2 hours).
The Milano Malpensa airport is linked to most international and intercontinental airports. From Malpensa airport you can reach Firenze by plane (2 daily flights). Connection by train is not advised due to the large traveling time and to the change of train station in Milano.
By train
Firenze is connected to all major national and international lines. The Conference Center is situated across the road next to the main railway station, S. Maria Novella, left exit.By car
The exit off the A1 highway to the Conference Center is Firenze Nord (coming from Milano) and Firenze Signa (coming from Roma). Once you are in the Firenze outskirts, please follow the sign Centro and then StazioneSMN. Cars are not allowed in the Firenze historical center, but traveling to and from the hotel is permitted. Please notice that there is no possibility of parking either in the vicinity of the Conference Center or next to the hotel. Parking is only allowed in private garages connected to the hotel at the average cost of 20 per day.Speed Limit
The speed limit on highways is 130 km/h. The speed limit on country roads is 90 km/h, while being 50 km/h in cities and villages, unless otherwise specified.
